AAM1150 Limited Slip
AAM1150 Limited Slip
I just went to American Axle & Manufacturing's website and discovered that there are several options for the limited slip differential in their 1150 axle. Does anyone know which of the following limited slip differentials is in the 2004 3500 SRW and DRW configurations:
TracRite™LK
TracRite™CC
TracRite™PC
TracRite™GT
TracRite™GTL
TracRite™EL
TracRite™ECV
Thanks!

I was about to say "none of the above", but after looking at the service manual, I'm confused. In the lubrication/maintenance section they call it a "Trac-Lok" differential, but back in the axle section (page 3-145) they call it a "Trac-Rite".
After reading through AAMs descriptions I came to the following conclusions:
10.5 inch axles are a Trac-Rite PC
11.5 inch axles are a Trac-Rite GT
That seems most consistent with the descriptions of the unit in the service manual.

I think the deciding factor is the auto trans gets the 10.5 and 5spd gets 11.5.

Tim,
We have the TracRite GT diff. in the 11.5 rear ends. There was an earlier thread on this but I don't know where it is. Nice unit.

No problem with mine JT.
By the way are you going to add more photos to your album sometime? I am thinking about the MBRP dual exhaust and keep checking your album for more pics

jt,
Someone else mentioned getting less lockup after going to the 315"s with their increased leverage. Could that be the case with yours? Is it time for an oil change?
