Not sure that's possible, buddy. Very hard to change engine displacement with new software.

Maybe the software is going from version 5.9 to version 6.0?

Wow, Betcha the Dodge boys are speechless. "What size engine you got?? 6.0. Heard thay had lots of problems with them...."
Watch the resell on the '04 nosedive now they have a 6.0 engine in them.
Glad I still got my 5.9. (at least in one truck)

Didn't we hear early rumors of DC bumping the hemi's displacement up to 6.0? 400 hp and all that.....

Still, its quite a feat to accomplish via re-flash.

That's on an '04, not an 04.5? That means the 03s too, right?

I talked with a rep who said the same thing about it changing to a 6 litre next year, but they didn't say anything about a computer flash.

Some one is smokin some real good stuff and I want some.

The is no possible way, no way no how to increase the cubic inches of a motor by a reflash. Now if they want to take them all down and increase the bore with new pistons, or put in new longer stoke cranks, well that would do it, LOL

I am afraid some one has their wires crossed here, maybe they are going to bump it up to 6.0 down the road, but their is no way they are going to make the 5.9's that are out 6.0.

Are you shure they didn't mean Cummins 600

Reguardless, from a 5.9 to a 6.0 you only gain 6 cubic inches, would seem like a waste of time to me. Other then the people out their that figure the Cummins as the smallest cubes of the big 3 so it must not be as good.

He said 6L. (It doesn't mean it'll happen, or even that I believe it- only what he said.)

The displacement is definitely not changed for 2004.5 Model year. The displacement has been the same since 1987. Why would they change it, so they can be like the Ford? If anything, they would go to something bigger than the powerjoke

The truck comes from the factory with full power and every time you flash the computer you LOOSE HP? Now I would like to know WHAT they are smoking? Thought when you upgraded a computer it got better not worse!!!!
I told them not to touch the computer!!!!!! PLEASE!!!!!!

Right, I am sure you have figured this out, but you do not lose hp everytime you reprogram the module. In fact, as many on this board will tell you, your engine will probably gain power/fuel economy as it is broken in (reduced friction).

I think he was pullin your leg.
