5 or 7 micron filters from genos
Does anyone have the parts number for the Baldwin 5 micron fuel filter. I've been using PF7777, but the gentlemen at the Heavy Duty Truck Parts Store where I purchased them had no idea what it was, he made a phone call to someone, hangs-up the phone, then starts saying something about a 5 to 11 micron, then said he was confused. Help anyone?
Wow, if anyone is offended by the replies, or the awesome joke about Prince, who was formerly the performer known formerly as Prince but is now reknown as Prince again....
Then you have a great life with no real worries
Micron is a measure of size, being one millionth of a meter, or 1/1000 of a millimeter ( please correct me if I'm wrong, I'm an old school measurement man, who measures using yards, feet, inches, sixteenths and then 'blondes' or 'brunettes', if you know what I mean then hats off to you!!
)
Anyway, you get the finer particles out when your filter is designed to remove paticles sized to 3 microns verses one that just filters out 10 microns.
There is a downside of course.... There are lots and lots of 3, 4, 6, 8 micron particles in your fuel. Catching all these particles will fill the filter media much faster than if you let them slip by.
Do you need to filter them out? I'm not that smart
. Maybe the 4 micron particles will pass through the injectors like dust through a garden hose, maybe not.
So your decision is: Pay more for a tighter filter, change it more often and sleep the sleep of babes; or use the stock filter and spend more time worrying about how to stop continental drift.
Good luck.

lately I've noticed that when new comers ask questions there is always one guy that feel the need to make a smartazzed remark instead of answering the question.Why ? Whats the purpose ? Does it make you feel smarter ? I just don't get it,this site is supposed to be about help.Forgive me I just think its stupid.We all would use 2 or 3 micron filters.There are none that fit the stock filter housing.I hope you'll try to understand my point.

You derailed the thread, dodged the swear filter, and called me stupid. Awesome!
