4x4 performance question

I have a 05 3500 diesel 4x4 slt quad cab on order. My drive way is very steep and long and I am concerned that with all that wieght up front, will I have a problem getting up the driveway when it snows? Its a paved drive but currently only 4x4 will make it up in snow.Front wheel drive does not cut it! Is the diesel wieght an issue? Please advise.

Strap about 500 pounds in the bed over the rear axle, throw it in 4X4 and go.
