4x4 handle shakes

4x4 handle shakes

at most any speeds my 4x4 handle shakes. never noticed it befor. i have to use my 4x4 a lot because i work in the patch. don't want to get screwed and be stuck. what can i do to fix the problem, if it is a problem? thanks

shakes like it's loose or just moves around? Shaking around is normal to some extent if it is exsesive check your motor mounts.

If you shook the rest of the truck in the exact opposite direction, that would make things twice as bad. I recommend shaking the whole truck in the same direction as the handle.

handle moves around front to back. feels like it could almost jump into 4x it self. has about 1 to 2 inch sponge like play

that doesn't sound normal a little side to side is but not front to back ckeck you linkage the adjustment may have come loose

Mine moves back and forth when I am shifting, or hard on the loud pedal, but it moves with the truck. My shifter is solid.

Ditto.

I had movement in both my 2001 and the new one. I consider it to be normal.

What I'm talking about on mine is normal, but if yours has play in it, or you can move it left to right, then there is something wrong. If you can move it more than 1" with no resistance, just slop, then you need to check it out.

just took a one out from the dealership, 04, did the samething. they said it is normal. just wanted to make sure, enough has gone wrong with my truck. TRANNY, BALL JOINTS, SHIMMY SHOCK, 2 U JOINTS and LOSE OF POWER. All in the last year. $$$$$$
