4x3 Drive

Well I finally got to try out my BFG/MT’s yesterday, had a Low Pressure natural gas pipeline leak in the middle of a rice field. Mini-Hoe could not take the welding machine out there to make the repair; the machine was too heavy, told them to load the machine in the back of the truck and took off. Traveled Appox. 200yds in mud and slush. The left front wheel never pulled. Even tapping the brakes. Never got stuck though. Good thing the field had a pretty stable bottom.
On the way out the same thing. Also it was very obvious from the mud on the passenger side to the driver side. Couldn’t even see out the windows and half the windshield. Couldn't tell it was white on that side either. I could feel the front end wanting to nose dive ever now and then, just put my foot in her some more and she kept going. Spent all today cleaning and waxing her, whew! That was not fun. But I still love my truck.

If you want true 4wd, you need an ARB (air locker) in the front diff in addition to the limited slip in the rear.

That's better than paying big bucks for the 4X4 option and finding out you only have 4X2.

I "assumed" that limited slip, locker, or posi something or other came standard on "all" 4X4 vehicles.

First time out in the woods I got stuck in some mud.
Could only see mud flinging from one side, so I leaned out and saw the front tire just sitting there, rear spinning away.

Left it in drive (knew it wasn't going anywhere ) and hopped out to look at the passenger side.
Front tire just spinning away, rear one just sitting there.

After hiking some 3 miles to the main road and finding a nice Ford owner, breaking my strap 3 times I find out that LS was an option.

Shouldn't that be considered false advertising to have the big ole 4X4 sticker on the back if it really isn't?
Where's a lawyer when ya need one .

When funds allow there will be an ARB in front and most likely a Detroit in back.
