The 05's do it but not any of the earlier turcks. The TH pre-05 was just OD lockout.

Maybe Not

I recently purchased a PacBrake for my '05. The PacBrake included a "secondary" Trans controller for my 48re and it covered '04.5 and '05 model years.

Prior to my PacBrake install, I noticed when exiting a limited access highway (55 mph or so) with the T/H mode off, I would release the throttle first to slow, then turn-on the T/H mode. The truck would then start downshifting right away. Although not as effective as the PacBrake, my T/H method did work. There was a TSB (21-006-07) issued in March of '07 to change the T/H mode operation. I elected not to do the flash as I liked the operation of the T/H as it is

I am guessing with the transmission controller that you have, it may work the same way as mine provided it wasn't flashed with the TSB.

Give it a try

Hey Deaver,

How do you like the Pacbrake on your 05. Does it have any issues with the trans controller? I also have a truck camper (about 4500-5000lbs loaded) and was thinking of getting the exhaust brake to help out some. I was running through the Smokies down in Tenn. earlier this year and had a little issue with heating up the rear brakes, no brake fade or anything too severe but makes me think what if the run was a few miles longer. Use to have a 10K lb. trailer that I towed and never had any issues cause it had its own brakes. How was the install?

Thanks,

Sticky
