48re shift question

My brother has the 47re. When I shift out of OD at say 50-55mph it is very smoooth. When i do this with my 48re it is a harder shift up into drive. Is the 48re designed to give this harder shift as a shift kit would do when installed on a tranny, or is it something to get checked? (It is not really noticeable when i shift out of OD under 50mph.)

Sorry- I meant going from OD to direct drive. Yeah hamma, I found it harder than the 47re, but if they all do it, I imagine it's a faster shift than the 47(not as much drag to it?).
