One more 48re Shuttle Shift question

I've been fighting the 2-3-2 shuttle shift on my truck for quite a while now, and I'm looking for some help. I have never once had a 1-2-1 shift problem, only the 2-3-2.

About 10,000 miles ago, i replaced the solenoid and transducer along with filter and fluid. This fixed the 2-3-2 shuttle shifting crap for about a week, then it came back just as bad as before. It wasn't an all at once deal, over about 2 days started getting worse and then by the 3rd day was just like it has been.

Is trying the GM pressure solenoid kit my next step? I already feel like i wasted the money replacing the solenoid and transducer the first time, so i don't really want to do another $150 "fix" that only lasts a week.

Thanks for your help, if you have any other ideas on trying to fix this, i would appreciate it.

I put the GM solenoid on my truck trying to fix the shuttle shift. It seems to have helped, but did not fix the problem.

My 3-2-3 problem was a worn band. That was 42,000 miles! Believe that.

Dodge Dealer replaced the band and all's been good for the last 10,000 miles.

To completely fix the 2-3-2 and the 3-lockup-4th issues, you might want to get a Suncoast 47RE VB, yes I said 47RE for your 48RE, they have it figured out, but wont tell how...

I got my first shuttle shift problem after about a year, then the second one a year later, the dealer told me if it comes back a second time it is usually from debris in the fluid ,which is known to come from the TC,they have actually cut them open to find out the problem, but he didnt actually say why.Rather than just put in another one again they removed and rebuilt the trans. under warranty for me and hence no further problems.Since BD Diesel is just down the highway from me I will be going their if I ever need another rebuild.

Thats the firsts step, the gov solenoid usually won't cure that problem but rather cover it up.

If it goes away after adjustment then comes back or you can't get rid of it you may need to replace the front servo and accumulator piston. Leaks in that area are a major problem that lead to the shuttle shift.

Yo cna get away with that on the early units pretty easily, but, the later units have frequent issues swapping a 47 VB in there.
