Will the 1-2-2-1-2 shuttle shift cause code?

Ok so I've been having the 1-2-2-1-2-3-2 tranny shuttle problem for the last few weeks. I was on my way to work the other day and went to pass someone, truck kicked down and when it hit 2700-2800 rpm it cut out for a second. Then kept revving and shifted like normal. I couldnt get any codes using the key cycle method. I got it to do this a few more times yesterday so I dropped it of at the dealer. I printed out the tsb for the new governor solenoid replacement and gave it to the service guy. Went to pick it up today and they said the ecm needed replacing....no prob. BUT they will not do the tranny solenoid with out a code showing up!!! My question is, will the tranny issue cause a fault code? I didnt think it would, And how can I get them to do the work without a code. The TSB says nothing about a code being thrown, only driver complaint. any help is greatly appreciated

Mine never threw a code. I just called them and told them I was having a 1-2 shift problem. I acted stupid and asked if there were any TSB's showing for this type of issue. The service guy looked in their Dodge database found the TSB and said bring it in. They did the TSB because I was complaining about it and there was no charge. Might try a different dealer.

It's a TSB to address customer complaints. They just about HAVE to do it if your complaining about it.

You will either have to get the GM and/or the area rep involved, or, find another dealer that is a bit more receptive to complaints. Sounds like this one wants to deny ALL warranty work for any reason.

If you get tired of the run around just have a Transgo shift kit put in. That solves the problem 99% of the time.

Good luck.

Mine's done the shuttle shift twice since I owned it. Both times I topped it off with ATF+4 and it went away.

It needs to be right at the full line with the tranny hot, neutral and level. Hope this helps.
