Update.went for a drive after cleaning all the plug in connectors on the trans.it seems to shift alot better,BUT.if you stand on it.it shifts a little late around 3200rpm and if you let it shitf into 2nd and lean back on it.it will shift back into 1st and go to 3200 plus.and almost never shift back into 2nd till you lift a little.it really seems like it wants to down shift back in to 1st to easy.after shifting into 2nd..just a nother way of saying what its doing.at a stop light, light goes green and you need to get over, and you stand on it.revs a little high and its late on shiting, then you lift, let it shift, then lean back on it and then it will shift back into 1st.

I too have an aftermarket valve body, and it has changed the shifting of the truck. Not sure if you want to spend the $ but, an aftermarket valve body and TQ make these 48RE come to life.

And a valve body is only about four hundred bones and a lot of people can change them themself, or with a buddies help.

Isn't Dave Goerend having a sale on his VB's right now? I thought I read 200.00 or something crazy like that.

I didn't have the shuttle shift problem until I got my Goerend VB (and installed by a Goerend dealer). Then to fix it, I was told that I needed some $250 module (I bought it but haven't installed it yet). My tranny shifted much better at lower speeds when it was stock.

That's extremely odd. Have you actually called Dave Goerend himself on this one? I would find it hard to believe that he would recommend an electronic shift enhanser to cover this one. Was it a DTT or TS that you were told?
