#4 fuel line failure

I just had my #4 injector fuel line break for the second time. When I picked it up from the dealer yesterday they said another '07 had just come in with the exact same issue. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Happened to an 05 I had a couple years back. It is a pretty common problem as I had to call 3 or 4 dealerships to find one.

Very common issue...be sure you put the upgraded part back on instead of the original weak one. Might as well carry a spare for #6 while you are at it

They must have upgraded again. Mine doesn't look like that. And it was $60 at the dealer Mine looks like the original but with a better isolator and new style bolt.

The #4 injector line failure is extremely common.

I thought there was a similar thread on here but here is the detailed thread from CumminsForum.

Cummins has re-designed that injector lines several times. The picuture above shows that latest design.

It's a common problem. When I went to the dealer to get one, the parts guy knew the number off the top of his head.

Here you go.

Cummins P/N 5289447 for cylinder #4 ($25.62)
Cummins P/N 4988807 for cylinder #6 ($29.75)

Geno's has all six parts and their prices are similar to Cummins' prices.

Square, blue isolator? That's an older design. Must've had it sitting on the shelf awhile.

Yes....
I did mine about 3 years ago. The dealer also knew the part I needed as soon as I told him. He said he had sold 4 of them that same week before me!! Told me they keep a good supply of them on hand.

Does anyone know if all the fuel lines have been re-designed ?
Looking at the photos on Genos site the only one that looks different is line #4, maybe the photos are not correct.
Does the newest version of #6 still have a blue isolator?

Carl48,
I like the idea of the fuel rail cap.
How do you seal it?
