This is my first diesel:
How much does it cost to replace the fuel pumps (labor and parts if possible)? That is one of my biggest fears, and it seems to come true for a lot of you. Thanks.

With your 07' model you should have the in tank pump and should not be a problem for you.

I kinda hang around a diesel shop.A couple of years ago,I watched an 03 motor being taken apart at 325,000 miles. The owner has literally ran the you know what out of it(I know him, boxed, exhaust ect) the inside of that engine looked new.Cyl walls were perfect, the reused the main and rod bearings. They were fine. The timing gears ect were showing virt no wear.He did replace valve springs. That was reg stop and go driving, hwy and town.I decided after seeing that I wouldnt wory bout my engine with over 350 K on it.It was hwy and not repeated starts all day.

Talking Great Truck...

I have over 165,000 miles on my '07. i drive over 65,000 per year. I have no mods and I don't pull anything most of the time. I have a 30' boat that I pull twice a year about 300 miles each way. I have had no problems at all. It starts and runs like new. No power issues. Just like new. I believe that if you change the oil...12000 miles for me...and change the fuel filter...every oil change...that these trucks will last way beyond the others.

My truck was used as a snowplow truck and wasn't maintained very well when I bought it.

I'm a bit over 100k now and most recently the tranny went out. It wasn't shifting that great from the minute I got it, I had the bands adjusted, changed the fluid/filter and she lasted another 20k before it finally died.

Other than that:

ball joints replaced (upper and lower)
axle u-joint replaced
steering box replaced (was leaking)
muffler was replaced (went with a 41" Donaldson)
the driver's side door latch is bad, will be replacing that soon.
all new brake rotors and pads. 2 new calipers in the rear
replaced both batteries

also just before I bought the truck the A/C condenser was replaced.

Most of those parts I don't feel so bad about replacing since they are wearable components...but the tranny did sting a bit

hopefully that will be it for the $$$ stuff
