High milage 3rd gen??

I have a chance to get a 3rd gen auto trans 2500 5.9 cummins truck. I have a 01 2nd gen and had lift pump, and had to replace the injector pump.
Anyways
This truck has 250K miles or so. Should this truck be avoided due to mileage? Any known problems with these trucks like Lift pumps, or transmission problems. Any tips on what too look for or check for when I test drive this thing would be great.
Thanx
Bob

At 250k miles, it's more of a game of what's already been replaced or what is going to need to be replaced soon. Go thru the major items, injectors, lp, cp3, trans, front end components, u joints. Any of those that are still original, factor in the lifespan or cost of replacing or rebuilding them into your purchase price.

i bought my 03 a few months ago with 174k on it. since then, i have had to replace brakes, ball joints, tie rod ends, upper control arms, all associated bushings, shocks, hydraulic clutch release assembly, ignition cylinder, fan clutch, $1000 in ac repairs under the dash. Now for the stuff thats broke or needs replacing......transmission may have a bad pilot bearing or worse, wire harness between frame and left rear door, fan clutch won't come on so ac won't work (replaced fan clutch twice with no luck), needs rack and pinion.
Hope this helps.

I hope you got a good price and knew that those things need to be done, because most of those issues should have been visible when you test drove/bought the truck
