3500 SRW Rear Brakes

I read the terrific DIY rear brake thread which is specific to the DRW. I need to order 2 new rotors and pads for my SRW and have a few questions.

Does the rotor come off the same on a SRW as the DRW or do I just remove those clips on the wheel studs and pull the rotor straight off.

Do I need to remove the axle shaft as in the write up?

Regarding the inner wheel bearing and seal. Is that setup the same on a DRW and SRW. I will order new seals in advance if so as it looks like the seal tends to separate when the rotor comes off.

Thanks

They come off just like the fronts, easy... not like the dually.

Just pull the pads and calipers, the rotor comes off. I can't remember if you have to pull the caliper frame off as well, but that is it, no axle or anything.

Are the wheel studs pressed into the rotor or are they part of the axle assembly. I need to replace both rotors and if getting the old studs out are a PITA I may just order new ones.

I just preformed this on my 03 3500 srw. I replaced both rotors, pads and 1 caliper all on the rear. Easy to get the rotor off, just remove caliper and the caliper mounting bracket and the rotor should pull off but might need a little persuasion with a hammer. The studs are part of the axle and not the rotor.

Did you happen to replace the caliper with OEM or aftermarket. If you have the part number for the caliper handy it would be helpful.

Thanks

Thanks everyone for your help on this. Yesterday I replaced both rear rotors and pads with OEM. I didn't want the value line (my originals lasted 125K) so I spent a few more dollars on the OEM pads. The new OEM rotors looked real nice, Made in the USA with a Bosch imprint on the back. They were somewhat easy off after about 5 minutes of tapping with a rubber mallet and some PB blaster into the stud holes, very easy on after adjusting the parking brake shoes. The calipers looked OK, so I spent some time cleaning and lubricating the slides.

All said and done, roughly $300 for everything delivered to my house.

Thanks again.

Rotor- 52010144AA
Pads- 5093257AA

These are for 2004, 3500 SRW. I'm sure they are the same for a 2500

If you want to know where I got them, let me know and I'll PM you. The dealership wanted much more than what I got them for.
