315/70-17s - Would You Buy Them Again??
I just ordered 315/70/17 Firestone Destination AT's for my truck, and they will be put on this week. I currently have 35x12.50x17 pro comp Xtreme AT's on the truck, and am not that happy with load range D's... I can't wait to get some load range E's that are close to the current size I have. I have a 6 spd as well, and am happy with the size.

I'm in the boondoggle as we speak. I bought a set of brand new BFG 315's on chrome h2's and have ran them since 1/1/10. I took them off yesterday. Here are my thoughts: The tires perform superb in the snow! Got to test them out extensively last week. Wet weather, awesome. They look "right" on the vehicle as they fill the wheel wells nicely and fit well with the 2" leveling kit. Lower highway rpm's(lil bit better mileage). That's about where it all ends. Where do I start....poor handling, sidewall flex (especially with the BFG's), poor steering response, major mileage decrease (city), power loss and weird shifting (48re)....but hey, they look cool! I can say the tires seem to perform better with the 6 speed transmissions. My neighbor is running the same tire on his 06 6speed and it performs nothing like my truck. If it did, I would definitely keep them.
Honestly, I would do the BFG 305's again, which are e-rated, but think I will try a 285/70.17 or 295/70/17 once I sell/trade the 315's. Good luck.
BTW- The aforementioned tires are available on Craigslist Dallas for $800 @ 1500 miles.
