2wd hub replacement

I think I'm going to have to replace my right front hub. The bearing has started to make some noise. I checked it for play and it doesn't have any yet. So my question is who has replaced theirs on a 2wd? What is the easiest way to remove them? Can I just back out the bolts a little and pound them out or what? I've found lots of info in guys who've done it on a 4x4, just not the 2wd. The truck now has 131,000 and this will be the first big purchase for any repairs.

I tryed to grease them by removing the abs sensor and pumping several ounces of grease in there. That knocked down some of the noise, but I'm still going to have to get a new one. And why is it that half the places I look, the 4x4 hubs are cheaper than the 2wd?

Thanks for any help.

Can't you just replace the wheel bearings and races, both inside and out?
Surely they can't be that expensive!
