Does anyone know if it is possible to slip a new 2nd gear band in through the bottom of the tranny just by pulling the pan and valve body, without having to remove the tranny from the truck?

I do realize this would just be a band aid. I just don't have the money to get the tranny rebuilt let alone buy a new one.
