250hp

i have a 2003 2500 dodge the moter is a 250hp. i know the later ones are 300hp what is the diferance? and how do i make mine have more horses.

Throw a smarty on it... I think that the only difference in the SO and HO is programming...

Yep, a smarty will even things out between a SO and a HO.

Check out my sig, I have seen the about he same numbers on a handful of SO trucks. Yes, the only difference is the program, and no you can't have the Ho program put on, i know a handful of people that have tried, you have to reprogram too many things

member on here made 526rwhp with a silver bullet turbo, tst stacked on a PPE/ATS downloader with stock fuel system lift pump and it was the 250hp engine so they can make power dont let anyone tell you otherwise

...& don't forget the boost elbow. Otherwise you'll be stuck with 22 psi instead of 32 psi .

I believe the oil galleries in the pistons changed between the SO and HO. That may have extended long-term engine reliability but that's all.

The HO has oilers the SO does not have for cooling.

I made 500hp/900tq with my 03 SO and it still got 16-17 city/22-24hwy. MAN I sure miss that mileage!!!!
