Looks like those exhaust brakes really make a difference!!!

I have an '03, HO &, occasionally, tow a 6000-7000 lb. travel trailer. I live in the mountainous West (AZ.). I never thought that I REALLY needed an exhaust brake but, know that it wouldn't hurt (other than the price).

For you guys that have experience with the E-brakes, am I a candidate for one? I've been thinking about the new Pacbrake. Not sure I want to go through life without just one exhaust brake. BTW, my truck has the 6-speed stick.

The vacuum pumps going out is the major reason I went with the PacBrake, it uses a ViAir compressor.

Buffalo - get one you will really enjoy it. I have had mine on for about 23,000 miles and I pull some pretty good grades grossing between 19-20,000 lbs. I pulled the same grades without the EB and wish I hadn't waited 45,000 miles to put it on. Not sure where you pull but coming south on 17 out of Flagstaff there is more than one place you will like it. Also several places along the Salt River and other places nearby.

anybody put a pac brake on an 05 with an auto Im wondering how it works in first and second gear, and what i need to get for the TC. I am working in Parachute Colo. the roads are steep and windy, its like the Salt river canyon in Arizona but on dirt. I have to keep it pulled down into in second gear it will run up to 30 before the TC will grab

I have the PacBrake also and would not want to tow my Toy hauler without it. It is the single best investment I have made on the truck. If I didn't do anything else to the truck, the exhaust brake would be it. Especially if you have a six speed. I rarely have to use my truck brakes to slow me down. My truck has about 65K on it and the front and rear pads are still in excellent condition. The PacBrake works great and it is nice to be able to use the air compressor for smaller items. I use it alot for ATV tires. Scotty

Just replaced both front and rear original pads about a month ago. Over 250,000 and no engine brake. Hope the new ones go another 250K.
