2011 max tow package diff cover
The mag on my 97 only cooled 5° max and it doubled the cost of a change. The mag is also cast. Don't need or care about a drain - I always look inside anyway. This has enough fins to maybe do some good. It also looks like the fill plug puts the level up into the tubes. I like it! Craig
1/2 price and 1/2 the fluid.
Interesting, I don't monitor my temps but I would have expected more of a change.
Was that 5° cruising, or towing thru the mountains?

I just installed a rear differential cover that I purchased from PLM. I believe the web site is www.yourcovers.com It holds approx an additional 3/4 of a quart more than the stock steel cover. The cover looks great and the total cost was $208.65.
Unloaded the diff on my second genner runs 160F all day long on the highway with the Mag-Hytec,load it down with the 12.5K fiver and maybe another 20-30F.Max i have seen is 190 running though the mountain in 25-30C weather.Down south in the hotter USA will be a different story of course(no experience in summer Arizona weather
).Wind and weather play a big part----in -30C winter weather it takes almost an hour to even have the gauge reach 100F running on the highway. The diff pretty much tracks the 6 speed manual temperature wise, both with about 6-7quarts of fluid----although the manual takes longer to heat up in the long run.DW---PS still working on the 3rd genner for a rear sensor set up,waiting on parts.
