2007 Dodge Price and tranny question
2007 Dodge Price and tranny question
I found a 2007 with about 22,000 w/ the 5.9 miles and they are asking around 37K for it. It's an auto, 4x4, power everything, cloth, etc.. My first question is what do you think about the price of the truck? And second, what about the auto tranny in this year behind the 5.9? How strong is it and what kind of power can I put behind it and it still hold fine? Performance wise I would only be putting a small chip/box (100HP max) and exhaust on it. I would rather have a manual behind the 5.9, but thought I would ask about the auto since this is a pretty clean truck. I don't really want a manual since that's all I have ever had, but would consider it behind the 5.9, but really want the 6.7 with the 6-speed auto.
I just found this truck today so I though I'd ask. So, what about the auto behind this year and engine?

Sounds a bit high priced, when they still had some you could get a 4x4 megacab with the 5.9 for less that $36 brand new at Dave smith's. The tranny is just fine for stock power but the TC will start slipping under heavy loads when you start adding power.
That is really high, I got mine for 38K even, out the door with all the stuff in my sig. I would try to find a new one for less $. I know there are some still in the Boise area. Can't say much about the auto, I got the G56 6er, but if you take care of it, it should do you good.
I REALLY want that 6 speed auto
but I will have to stick with my 6 speed stick for the time being.
I want 10 more years out of my rig and 350K more miles. (it is 5 years old and 150K right now).
So my goal is 15 years and 500K miles

No, I'm not giving up on the 6.7, I just happened to see an '07 here in Cookeville and went to look at it and it ended up being the 5.9 with the auto so I figured I would just ask.
As for the price. After posting the question I got to thinking about it and figured it might be kinda high. So, I went and searched some of the Dodge dealer inventories around Nashville and a few new '07s with the 6.7 and 6-speed auto were around 37-39K depending on dealer and options. I liked the fact the most of the ones that I found had the manual transfer case instead of the electronic. I won't get one 'til I graduate college which is in about 3 months, but I figured it couldn't hurt to start looking now. I really want the 6.7 with the 6speed auto in Inferno Red.

If they have em listed for 37-39K, you should be able to talk em down from that. Probably get it for that out the door after tax, tag, and title and all that jazz. Inferno is a beautiful color and you should definitely wait and get one in that color. Then i can come over and steal it and put your tranny in my truck.
