2007 Dodge CTD engine noise

So I had the wife in the truck sitting at Mcdonalds, turn the engine off to talk to the dude to order our food, fine and dandy, start the truck up no problems (yes waited to start), start pulling forward and it sounded like a back fire, but up in the engine compartment. The truck is a 2007 Dodge CTD 5.9l, QC, SB, no mods at all. Any one have this? This is the first time I have herd it but i'm concerned as the truck is new to me and only hase 30k miles on it.

Please let me know if you have more questions.

Thank you!

Was the defrost or AC on???? Could have been the compressor. My 07 5.9 litre has a pretty good thump to it and I have never heard it with the windows down so maybe it sounded like what you are experiencing?

Could be, however I live in Utah, at the time it was a good 32 deg F and we had the Heat on, could it have been that?

Yea McDonalds does blow *** but I needed to get back to work and thats what was on the way.

By the way no check engine light or anything, should I be concerned since your experiances are different than mine?

The AC compressor runs when you have the defrost on

32 deg you probably had the defrost on right? Which as stated, runs the compressor.
