2007 6 Speed

Does anyone know what 6 spd. tranny dodge will be using in the 07' trucks this year?

I read on here somewhere that they were no longer using the G56?

Thanks,

Nothing officail yet but what I've read on here is that the 07 will have the 6-speed AISIN auto. THis MAY be the ONLY transmission they offer. Of course this is not set in stone.

I think if they dont offer a 6spd that would be a mistake, to many of us prefer the manuals. Chevy already quit, it dodge follows and ford keeps the stick my next one will be a ford. I love my cummins but I like a manual more. Heck I would pay extra to shift gears if I had to.

I might be wrong but I was pretty sure they were going to offer the nv5600 again. Read that on here I thought.

DC isnt stupid, if they add the Aisen, they should keep the NV5600 as well or they will loose a large market share.

They wouldnt do that would they???

The only thing I read was possable NV5600 on the 4500/5500 trucks. If profits is a issue the in house unit G56 will remain as it is.

Well, it took dodge 3 years to fix the doorseals.

They have shown no ability in providing a reliable lift pump even
though there are reliable examples on competing vehicles.

And they DID give us the G56 instead of the better nv5600

So I would say their decisions are based mainly on the bean counters
assessment of what should be built.

NV has proven to be better in problem occurance, reliability, and stoutness, the nv has been around a while overseas, it has a good history, the g56 has not been around as long and has had its problems. This is just what I have read on threads since I have been here. Exact ones I do not know, also I did read on here a couple weeks ago that they were to put the NV in the 4500/5500, they had read it some where

The G56 has been around a long time overseas also.Don't take me wrong but its not enough info in Dodge trucks to even begin comparing other then the G56 is a nicer shifting unit. Its not had but a few issues and so does the NV.The g56 has been used for a long time in Europe.

It has been around for a long time with alot less power going to it. I think it is at its max power rating now and they used the DMF to help it hold the Power levels our trucks are putting out stock and make it smoother. OTOH the 5600 seems nowhere near its max yet. that is a possible reason it is being brought back for the 45-5500's.

Ive been around here a while but never posted, but just as long as they DO have a manual as an option I'll certainly be happy. If its a G56 or NV5600 I'll be happy, and if I break it I'll cross that bridge when I get there!
