I have a 5.7l 4 x 4, 97000 miles, I dont think trans fluid or gear oil was ever done. Should I flush trans or just change filter and fluid, how many qts and also transfer case. Gear oil what do I use? Thanks

 

what i use is Mobil 80-140 synthetic gear lube in the drive axles, the gaskets are reusable on my 03

Valvoline ATF+4 synthetic recommended for Chrysler vehicles in the trans is what i use, around 7 quarts will do it.

Dextron 3 in the transfer case, i read here the 03 calls for synthetic, so i am going to change it again this weekend. i just bought the truck in December, when i changed the oil in T-case it was pretty dark, i had planned on changing it again anyway. my 99 has Dextron 3 in it for several thousand miles and they look like the same T-case to me.

just bought a case of Valvoline +4, $92 WOW
