my 06 has 150K+ and just now needs a tranny. i'm the second owner and i know the first. he has had about 8 diesel trucks to put that kinda miles on including both other brands, three other commons rails and his new 6.7. He could be lying to me, but to this day he tells me this was the best truck he has ever owned. he put 30K extra on it just because he felt more confident in it than any other truck he has had. i have the service records and besides tires and general maintenance the truck hasn't needed anything till me. and only one set of u joints too. he used it for travel and towed with it not that often, but needed it just for when he did since it was his job. don't know if that helps, but mine has been great and would drive it anywhere.

I have 72K on mine and use it as a daily driver (20 miles each way), but do plenty of weekend hauling of a 30 ft gooseneck with jeeps on it.

Only problem with mine is I broke the blend door. Took it out and that was it.

A friend of mine borrowed it to haul the trailer last weekend and said it pulled better then when he borrowed a 6.7 to haul a single trailer and was very impressed that it got the same mileage when my truck was hauling more than twice the weight.

I will never get rid of this truck until it really dies.

Thanks,

Jay

I've got an 06 with 112k km's on it couple issues but not much ,front and rear u joints , replaced the rad and a few bulbs. I tow regularly and have been using a smarty on the higher levels for the last 50k. Best truck I've had. Just had to post to find out what a blend door is, anybody?

I must admit I liked my 01 better than my 06 but after several upgrades the 06 is coming around. The difference in mpg's is the auto vs. the manual. Only 40K+ miles on it but so far it's been in the shop less than the 01 was. All in all, for what it is there are minimal complaints on the 06.

Rear pinion seal, starting the dreaded coolent leak (it's the little clamps on the hose) and a vibration I got after installing the AD 150, other that nothin to complain about 24,600 miles on it.

Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong, but here's my understanding of the "doors"

Blend Door - controls the air temperature from cold to hot
Mode Door - controls where the air comes from, e.g. defrost, dash or floor
Recirc Door - controls whether the air is outside or inside

Let's hear it guys!

So far so good. . . . .40K. . . .power stearing box at 20K and the coolant leak on the hose where it heads to the fire wall. . . . .My third Dodge CTD. The motors are stout. . . .just wish I could say the same for the parts from Dodge.

ssandlin,

I think you're right. Most people might be referring to the recirc door? A search for recirc or blend door will reveal a pretty in depth break down somebody did of the stock heating and cooling plumbing + controls.
