2006 CTD No Code Retrieval

A buddy of mine has a ’06 3500 CTD Megacab. The truck threw a CEL the other day. The CEL cleared after 4 or 5 restarts. I was going to help him retrieve the code and get a little insight before it went to the dealer. I had him do the three key deal and the truck would not display any codes or the done message. After sitting for a few seconds the CEL flashed 10 times and stayed on solid. When the truck was started the CEL went out. Is there a new trick for code viewing on the 2006 models? Any insight would be helpful. The truck is heading to the dealer today for a few minor things and a look into this.

Thanks in advance,
One4

Mine works (thankfully it only shows "P-Done")

Are you sure you are not going backwards into Accessory? Just go from OFF to on 3 times, staying on "on".

I couldn't get mine to work either. I found that on my 06 you have to cycle the key three times FAST to get it to work.

When my truck was at the shop i asked the techs, and was told you could no longer pull codes by the key cycle drill.

Just as Scottrod said; the key has to be cycled "fast". cdru
