There is definitely something in the dipstick tube on my 06 that prevents me from pulling an oil sample through it. I tried slicing my draw tube at all kinds of angles to get it to work, it was a no go.
Interesting to know. Must have been some sort of change between the '05 and '06 model years...
I was using the clear, maybe vinyl tubing and it wouldn't work. I ahev since got the plyethylene tubing, milky white, which is more rigid hoping it'll work. I'll try it the next time I drive the truck.
I was really wanting to have the sample completed to determine if I needed to change the oil.

I've also had problems with the 1/4" "refrigerator" tubing getting past the last part of the dipstick tube. I was able to force it past, but it was not easy. I could see where the end of the tube was compressed.
3/16" would probably work, but I've not been able to find it at Lowes/Home Depot. Where would I get this diameter tubing?

Be aware, it will be harder to pump. I'd do it while the engine is hot.
I tried McMaster but they only have 5/32 OD LDPE. Don't know if it would work.
I tried Amsoil, but no luck.
You could try calling Oil Analyzers at 800-777-7094.
Also, Blackstone Labs @ 260/744-2380 (8-5 EST).

One benefit of a FS2500 Bypass Filter set up...has an oil tap right on top of the filter housing...
or an EZ change drain plug...you screw the hose onto the drain plug and the oil starts flowing...

I have a fumotovalve on mine and it makes getting an oil sample a snap. You can control the flow of oil during the oil change or even in between changes. So I get the engine oil temp up a little, open it up and let if flow a minute....then stop it, get my oil sample bottle and fill it with just a small trickle....then stop it again. Seal up my bottle. Then open the drain again and to allow the rest of the oil to flow. So easy even a caveman can do it!

This has worked for me. I have been trying to send a sample after 4k miles on the oil to keep the reports consistant. This is a post I did a while back.
I got the pump from Blackstone Labs. The pump comes with a 1/4" plastic tube. The 1/4" tubing is too large to fit down the oil dipstick tube. Right at the end of the tube is some sort of rib that stops a larger tube from going any farther. I bought some fittings & smaller tubing to get a sample thru the oil dipstick. With the new 3/16" tube, it went in smooth. I used the components from McMaster-Carr. Here are the items
(1) brass compression 1/4" od tubing 1/4" NPT female #50915K215 $1.87
(2) brass compression 3/16" od tubing 1/4" NPT male #50915K313 $1.87
(3) 3/16"od 1/8" id tubing with Teflon PTFE semi-clear $9.40 for 10 feet #5239K11.
Cut the 3/16" tubing to 60" If I remember right the dipstick was 46.5" long. I wrapped electrical tape around the 3/16 tube to mark insertion length and create a stop plug. Tube didn't crush down, it worked great. The tube was kind of pricey but wanted something stiff that coud take some heat. FYI

Here's a cool little sampling valve with 1/4 pipe threads on it. Ignore the extra fittings. It has a spring loaded pushbutton on top to open the valve and a cap to seal it for safety.
