2006 clutch safety switch issues

the truck is a 2006 with the g56 trans and it has the south bend 3600DD. the problem started last week or so when i start the truck. rather than just pushing the clutch peddle to the floor to start it i have to really slam it to the floor. if i just put the clutch in it doesnt turn over but if i stomp the peddle to the floor hard it will turn over. i think its the switch on the push rod to the clutch. the switch is right at the fire wall rapped around the push rod in side the cab. Any 1 else ever have this issue? is it an easy fix?

My stock switch stopped functioning about a year ago. Luckily it stopped working in the start enabled mode. I inquired and I think the switch can not be replaced by itself. You have to replace the whole hydraulic unit. I just replaced my clutch with a SB OFE and the upgraded hydraulics. The new hyd came with a new swtich so now I have to push the clutch in to start it again, and it has to go all the way to the floor to make the switch.

BTW, if it fails you can jump the 2 wires going to the switch and it will allow you to start the truck, but it will now start with or without the clutch pushed so be careful not to start it in gear.

that same switch acted up on me once. . .now it makes a little click noise when i press to the floor but has not stopped me since the one event at about 35K miles. nice to know the south bend unit will replace that switch. . .maybe just the excuse i need to buy the new clutch. Then smarty goes up to level 3 and stays there.
