light throttle, FIRM shifts
light throttle, FIRM shifts
ok, its an 03 2500 48re, i've had lots of issues, theres lots of aftermarket parts and lots of different hands have been through it, and i have read just about every post about this sort of thing i can find, but i have a few questions for someone with more experience. i recently adjusted my tps, it was at like .4 volts and it said .585 on the thing, so with the ign. on i probed socket 23 i think it was, orange with blue wire on the bottom ecm connecter and got it turned to show .58 figured that was close enough. and that helped. and i've tried my tv cable on lots of different spots, pretty sure i've tried em all, and the tightest so far is the best, and under normal driving conditions its pretty good, but under light throttle, or accellerating down hill or something it shifts real firm, and if i brake quite hard like you have to sometimes in traffic, it will downshift violently, enough that u can spill an almost full can of pop in the cup holder. scary. and i noticed it more when it was cool, but i can accellerate slowly, and some times you let off the gas and it'll upshift real firm, or come around a right hand corner in town or something and go to touch the pedal again and it'll downshift real hard. i just had it into the dealer for a 'flush' and got them to do a band adj. right away cause later that day i left on a road trip. and after i got it back i adjusted the tv cable also, and it was pretty good, but now, i've drivin over 1300 miles and it seems like its bad again. do i need a new tv cable? can i install it with minimal tools with the pan on? i have had that tranny apart 100% myself and put back together but i forget all the details and i wasn't into adjusting that cable during that time. i have it on the tightest it can go, and i do think it is slightly extended in order to clip onto the **** up top. any insight?
does anyone have a picture of where to adjust pressures etc that can affect the shifting in these tranny's? i've adjusted the tv cable to death, and my tps is on the money, with the ign. in the on position. and i know several people have messed with the shifting including a shift kit installed. what else can affect the firmness? its starting to tear my drivelines apart!!
I just got my trans installed and am having a bit of the same issue. Under light throttle it shifts hard through the gears. When I come to a stop it kicks hard one time right before I come to a stop. I havent had the trans for a week. I cant find any threads that will help.
i would suggest tightening up your tv cable. i ran out of adjustment and couldn't get a new one due to a backorder, so i went under and undid the connection by the tranny. i then took a medium sized crescent and tilted the bracket to the rear a bit, then i had more adjustment to play with. try it one lil click at a time though. if you accelerate hard do you also have a 2-3-2 shift hunt? oh wait, i just seen you have an '05 i think you might not have a cable like i do, mines 03. i think yours is electronically controlled, im sure someone will chime in as to what you need to do, but if you do have a cable from the transmission to the 'throttle body' area then i suggest you try what i said.
