2005 Injectors
2005 Injectors
My cousin has a 2005 Dodge/Cummins dually, and is in need of injectors. His mechanic charged him $800 per injector last time. Needless to say, he's a little hesitant to go back to the guy. Are these injectors that expensive?

Uhh.....NO, the are not!!!! That's rediculous. You can find them for about $350 per. They're easy to R&R.....I could never charge that amount for something that basic.
I'd have them sent to F1 for a rebuild if it were me.

Sad story... he traded it yesterday, with 280,000 miles on the odo, after taking it to the dealer and getting a very high estimate on what was wrong with it. I don't know all the particulars yet, but definitely one or more of the injectors had gone bad. He is a contractor and used it in his work. It looked pretty well taken care of the times I saw it--no obvious area of neglect that I could see. But it's gone now.

Hate to hear it got traded for a new(er) truck payment over a set of injectors. They are much cheaper than several more years of monthly payments but after getting burned I can understand the frustration. Hope the new ride works out for him.
