2005 CTD quit running going down road

Hey all, i am helping my father in laws friend with his 2005 dodge cummins. he was driving down the road and it just stopped, quit running at 55 mph. Will not start. It is throwing a P0628 that is low voltage to lift pump. When you "kick" the key you can hear the lift pump running in the tank. Sounds normal I would say. It also seems to be filling filter canister okay? Fuel filter was changed 500 miles ago. Truck only has 120k on it. No mods that i am aware of...........What the heck? Any ideas?!?!? thanks!

I bought a disc service manual for mine and it has helped MANY times. I'd find a wiring diagram and start probing with a meter to check out that code. I'd also clean every ground point I can find and check batt voltage. Check plug connectors for corrosion or heating up contacts. Craig

I would check the fuel pump ground also, I think pump ground at rear wheel well area on the left side of frame. Check the fuel pump relay also in the TIPM.

well still no luck. i cleaned and charged batteries, drained ecm, reset apps, checked FCA (by unplugging). It is definitly getting fuel to cp3 just not past it. Im guessing ecm or pump broke? it would just surprise me because of the low mileage and how well maintained the truck has been kept. I suppose it's time to call in a expert with some diagnostic equip. thanks for your suggestions

Does your truck have the lift pump on the filter housing, or is it in the tank, if housing mount it probable went south, like mine did and it quit doing 65 and that was it, dealer put in tank pump no problem since,

This is the time to have already installed a fuel feed pressure gauge at the CP3. It would immediately tell you if there is a fuel supply issue.
