Friend who is not on the internet is asking about the OD lockout on the 2005 48RE transmission. Upon searching the forum I find many threads from 8-10 years ago but none I could find came with a solution.


Fast forward 10 years now is there now a reflash from the dealer to make the 2005 work like the 2006?


Does the Smarty Jr add this function?


Is the only option the BD Overdrive lockout as the Towloc seems to be discontinued.




What are the options for the 2005?

Yes, dealer can flash but you'll loose the tow-haul feature. I use the BD od lockout and it works well, plus you keep the tow-haul feature.
