should I start looking for one of these O/D lockouts to protect my 2005 auto transmission. I will be towing mama's TT that weights around 6500#

I understand you cannot lockout O/D in the 2005 model with auto transmission.

do not want to be setting on the side of the road hooked to that thing with oil running out of my transmission as all other brands of trucks pulling bigger loads are passing me by.

anyone out there have experience pulling with a 2005 model dodge diesel.

Unit works great to not lug engine. I only use it for slower speed mountain highways less than 60 mph. 65 to 75 mph I let it use o/d

 

I have the B/d unit and I like what it does. I also have a built tranny though. I like being able to have the different shift points the stock program offers and then lockout o/d when pulling up hills. So I would recommend it for you.
