2004.5 Question

Hey guys, as you can see I'm new here. I've been looking at getting a newer diesel 2500. I've heard that there is a difference between the 2004 and 2004.5 motor/tranny? Can anyone clarify this? And if this is the case, how can you tell the difference between the two? I have found a nice truck all loaded up, just wondering if its worth it to look for the newer one. Any advice?
Thanks fellas,

Mike

I think the easiest is to look on the driver side of the valve cover to see the hp rating.305 hp = 04, 325 hp = 04.5
