2004.5 drive axle u-joints

Well with 55K on my truck I finally have have something going wrong. Just starting to click making turns in 4 High. Drive axle u-joints are starting to go bad. I sure wish the factory would put grease zerks on them for regular maintenance. Has anyone recently changed theirs out? It has been years since I've had to replace any. Are the front axles held in place by c-clips in the differential or by bearings out on the spindles? I'm pretty sure its a painless job but not sure if I should plan on setting aside a couple of hours or most of a Saturday afternoon.

Axles themselves aren't a problem to remove... It's the hub bearing unit in front of it that is the bear. Read up on it... there's a couple good threads with pics about removal. More than a couple hours.
