2004.5 600HO or 610HO?

Thumbs up 2004.5 600HO or 610HO?

I just purchased a White 2004.5 with the 600 HO, 2500, 4x4, off road, 4.10s, auto,with 6000 miles on it. Is motor rated the same as the 2005 610??Truck is unreal!!!!!I love it!!!!!!!Thanks

From what I've read, the '04.5 600 and the '05 610 are exactly the same motor. DC just raised the number to stay ahead of the 6.0 Ferd.

the program in the 610 is slighly different but I have heard that the '04.5 can be reflashed to the '05 ratings.

It was rated as a 600, since that's what you were asking. The 610 rating didn't happen until shortly after the first 05's rolled off the line. Mine was ordered early but was stuck at the factory after it was built for sunroof issues. I have seen '05's on the lot with serial numbers AFTER mine that were rated at 600, yet mine came with a 610 sticker. My guess is, they didn't print my sticker until the sunroof problem was fixed and the only difference was just that... the sticker.

If you complain to them about white smoke at startup you will get the flash covered under warranty. Tell them about TSB 18-037-04 if they look clueless.
