2004.5 48re lockup in second gear?

I thought I read somewhere that the 48re torque converter will lockup in second gear. My 2004.5 won't. Any info on this?

I believe it's only when Tow/Haul is engaged and you manually downshift into 2nd using the shift lever.

Tried shifting into second with tow haul on. The toruqe converter does not lock up. It will in third and fourth but not second. Can anyone verify that the 04.5's do or don't lock up in second?

If you own an 04.5, the TSB for the hestation also adds the convertor lockup. see it here: -under pictures

afacey, thanks for the info. It looks like the early 04.5's torque converter won't lockup unless they have the tsb performed on them. I'll have to get it done to mine.

Thanks again!
