Question 2003 3500 front end / 4wd issue?

Can someone please help me? This past weekend my wife back my boat trailer off the boat ramp right onto the frame...Needless to say I threw it in 4 and tried to pull it free...didn't work...I had to get wet. When I took the truck out of 4 it still feels like it is in 4. The front end has a very subtle herky/jerky feel upon turns. No where near what it feels like when it is in 4WD but subtle and present none the less. When turns are complete the wheel jumps back to center rather than smooth movement. I had this issue once before and they told me that I needed new ball joints. They replaced them and the problem when away. That was 30K miles ago. Now the same thing is happening immediately following the use of 4WD. It feels like the hubs didn't disengage. Your thoughts?

Jim

The unit bearing more than likely. You need to look into the Dynatrack elimination kit.

First off, I hope you tried 4-Lo in that situation. 4-Hi doesn't put a whole lot of torque to the ground. Do you have the push-button 4wd or the lever? The push button may have a solenoid stuck. Happened on a Ford I had once upon a time.
