2001 or new ?what one

Hey all hope you dont mind the questions but i figure you all might know more than i
I have chance to get into a new 05 with trading in my 01. Is there any major difference between them drivetrain wise.
1. I think the brakeing system is better in the 05
2. Can the engine in the 05 sustain the beating the 01 can.
3. I plan on puttin down abotu 500 hp with about 1000 torque is one of the trucks better suited for this.
Please be as unbiased as possible
of yea. I do run alot of offroad fuel and or fuel oil through the truck. can the 05 do this ok.

one last question. What makes the 05 so quiet

genros, I sold my 2001 in March and bought the truck in my sig. Now let me just say I really loved my 01 and had a very hard time selling it but now that I have driven the 05 for a couple of months there is no comparison. The 05 has way more power, rides better, drives better and is not near as loud as my 01 was. And yes to me the brakes are better than the 01.

The 05 is quiet due primarily to it's Common-Rail fuel injection system (by Bosch.) Look at thier website and you will find a detialed explainition of common-rail. www.bosch.com

About running a modified '05, I would forget about it. How do you like voiding the warranty on a new rig? And yes, with the technology avalible today, ANY electronic modification will be logged in the truck's computer. I'm being unbiased here, perhaps the 325/610 would actually be sufficent for you?
