looks like Ford. I lost more money this year because of lack of plowing snow. Didnt want DC to make excuses so never had it installed and it was a good thing.

 

Coolslice, I had my tire guy tell me that I had a tire that was out of round on my truck and when it's on the front end my vibe is worse, and less when it's on the rear. I think my vibe is from that tire. btw I saw it myself on the balancing machine.

Well the truck has been in the shop for a week now.
So far they tried ballancing the tires, two new driveshafts, ballancing the driveshafts, who knows what else? Yesterday thay called saying they are ordering a new rear axle for the truck.

 

It would appear that I recently decreased my vibrations by close to 90% after I changed the gear oil in both axles. I used 75w90 Synthetic in the front and 75w140 Synthetic on the rears and followed the TSB recommendations of 1/4in below the fill hole. Could it be that there may be a bind of some sort that is placed on the front driveshaft causing it to oscillate?

 

I read in the TDR mag that one dealer loosened all the drive train mounts and realigned the drive train. It eliminated the vibration. The dealer asked the editor to test drive the truck and the editor was so impressed he bought the truck. Now he has his beloved 99 up for sale.

 

This may be a stuipid question but what is TSB?

Well a 4x4 is not a Corvette and really was not made for high speed road use.......I know 4x4 owners try to drive 'em like cars at high speed. My 4x2 is smooth as silk all the way to the top........no vibes at all.........but then again I am not running off road style tires, or hauling around all the extra metal parts. I know there is a vibe problem....but if you don't NEED a 4x4 why are you buying them?
I keep my 4x2 for my interstate hauling and stay smooth. 24 mpg
