Vibration at 2000 RPM

Took new truck on first road trip yesterday and at exactly 2000 RPM I get a vibration up through the steering column. If I turn the AC off it stops. I can duplicate it standing still and reving to 2000. Same thing, shut off AC and it stops. Go to 2100, gone, 1900 nothing. Only at 2000.

I believe I have some harmonics issue with the belt or AC compressor, power steering pump etc. But the load of the compressor is what causes it.

ANyone else experienced this?

By the way, I averaged 21 MPG at 74 MPH. I am delighted with that on a new motor with less than 500 miles on it.

Gary

Re:Vibration at 2000 RPM

The answer to the question is no. Never did figure it out. The truck now has nearly 10,000 miles on it and the vibration is about 75% better than when it was new, but still there. It is definetly some kind of harmonic caused by the AC. Everytime it happens, if I turn off the AC it also stops the vibe. I have read with great interest the number of others that are experiencing the same problem.

I have never had a reason to take the truck into the dealer since it was new and I don't want to loose it for a day over this. So, odds are something will break before I hit 36K and I'll have this checked then as well.

Re:Vibration at 2000 RPM

I have 4500 miles on my truck , Well I took a Drive abut 280 miles I lock in the Cruz control and A/C on at 2100rmp where the Vibration was the worst, I figured well if it's a bearing it will go soon and ware funny. then I could take it in and have the fix it. but since my road trip of 300 miles to and from having cruz set at 2000 rpm back I could say that the vibration has been cut extremely down. now I wondering what it is. I have a relitive that works for a Dodge dealer I will call him this weekend. but I dont have the vibration as bad. it is really slight. Oh buy the way I run my tires at 45 psi front and 40psi rear.
