Anybody know of a 2 micron element for a 04.5 CTD? I would like to go to a 2 mic, but don't want to change the whole system around to do it.

 

If your looking for a drop in OEM replacement in a 2um filter I don't think you will find one. Someone posted a part # in one of these forums the other day about a new Fleetguard filter to be released end of April. Can't remember what it filtered down to but it was a better than current drop in filters.

 

Anyone heard anymore about this "better than current drop in filters" filter? Just wondering, looking into options for better fuel filtering.

 

Yep, just received 3 from Geno's that I ordered along with some Stratopore oil filters! They are Fleetguard PN FS19800E and listed as a Premium filter 7 micron according to Geno's. I have not installed one yet, however I did read from others after they installed them they saw about a 1 lb pressure drop. I guess that would be expected with a tighter & slightly more restrictive filter media.

Funny that when I called my local Cummins Dealer they seemed pretty clueless about this new FF. I had to give them the PN, they then looked it up and said they had none in stock but priced them for me, they were priced higher than Geno's which had them in stock, Cummins said they could order some but didn't know when they would arrive. No brainer, they ended up on my doorstep about 4 days later from Geno's.
