Well, after some searching, and with the help of a Dodge parts guy, I can say that it looks like Dodge does now indeed offer a 1 pc aluminum driveshafts for us NV5600 guys. I do not want to comment on any other chassis configurations because I simply did not search but I can tell you that the #52105655AD is listed for 03-04 diesel HD 6 SPD manual (DEE) 4x4 QC/LB trucks. It appears as though this number did not exist a year ago. I am told it does measure 72" at the u-joint centers. I would like to try and find a way to verify this measurement in light of all of those that have stated an NV5600 1 pc aluminum shaft does not exist. Anyone?

 

Good of you to post it. I still haven't seen a cross-reference for a 2004 2WD, so if anyone has it . . . .

 

I'd advise that you ask your parts guy. It *appears* that new part numbers for these shafts have been made that did not occur a year ago.

 

Has anyone purchased this #52105655AD PN driveshaft to verify fit for a 2003 QC/LB 6 speed HO?

I need a new shaft soon & would love to get a one piece aluminum shaft without the extra cost of something custom or having to shorten a later model version.

I had a 1 pc aluminum on my '02 automatic.

 

Try one more time - has anyone bought a OE Dodge 1 PC aluminum drive shaft for a 2003 or 2004 QC 4X4 HO LB 6 speed NV5600? Has anyone tried the #52105655AD PN for this application?

This PN is on national back order & my rear joint was rapidly failing so I gave up and had new joints put in my stock 2 piece. Launch shutter and vibration are gone but I'd still like to get an OE 1 piece aluminum shaft if it was available.

Yeah, I wish I could find one for QC short-bed. Only thing I figured I could do is have the custom shop make one.
We bought a 2011 Infinity QX56 and Lo, IT has a aluminum drive shaft !
Its very smooth, and pretty quick.
Maybe one of these days someone will post here a aluminum shaft, for a quad cab short-bed, with auto.

 

Did anyone ever get this shaft? I hear it's now discontinued.

 

I bet there are countless numbers of us 5600 owners that are still wondering the same thing!!!!

 

Well I think I will have one built locally. Six States can build them, and the heavy walled version is used on the local shops 1400+ drag truck without issue...should work on my setup!

I was told around 350 for a standard wall, not sure on the heavy wall.

 

I picked up the shaft yesterday and it was considerably cheaper than I was originally told.

It also came with 1550 u-joints, vs the OEM 1480's.
