Is 1/2 a quart 2 much ?

My truck has approx, 3500 miles on my current oil change. I noticed for the first time that when I checked my oil level it was slightly below the full mark on the dipstick. It has always been on the full, in between changes.
however, I have done more pulling of my large horse trailer.

Mostly through the hot desert, mileage and power are great and running excellent, anybody else see the same results ?

Thanks
Truck has 8500 miles on the clock

As long as its in the safe range I wouldn't be to concerned. If you have been towing alot the added labor on the engine may have just sent some out the overflow tube.

I doubt it used any oil. It is very easy to get a different reading depending on how long the motor was cut off and sitting. Also, may of not been level. You should be good to go with no issues.

Common problem, i think the dipstick is wrong and the motor is holding a quart of oil somewhere that dosent get drained at a oil change.

Thanks guys, I made sure it was level and overnight parked, even drove it around some with same result, but like I said, BARELY off the full let alone the ADD mark... It was probably reading 80% up the SAFE . I wouldn't care if it did it all the time but this was the first, but I have been really using it hard thi month!!! GOing to ck in the morning and Change oil. I thought maybe it was my airbags, but I lowered them to 0 as well... Thank!!

Your airbags could have been the culprit. I notice that if I check the oil in my drive way which has an incline the dip stick will read in the safe zone. If I check the oil on level ground the oil will read right on full.

Mine uses or expells or somethings about 1/2 quart over 7500 miles. It didn't used to, but it does now. 44K on the clock.

I changed my oil and it was on the full. I added 15 pounds of air to my ride rites and I just checked it again and is showing a half quart low again... So that must be the culprit. I let ALL the air out of the bags in AZ to test this but was still a hair off the full but the bags looked like they still had a little air.. THis must be it!!
