07 Head Gasket

I have an 07 third gen. I would like to add a boost fooler but am leary due to the proglems I had keeping head gaskets on my 97 which made 43psi boost pressure. The truck I have now is supposed to make up to 48psi boost with a programmer and the boost fooler. I know a guy who with stacked boxes and twins made 60psi with no gasket problems. I cant afford the down time of stretching head bolts replacing gasket planing head etc... At what psi are the new motors having problems? Who makes the best one. How much are they?Has anybody used one while hauling? Any input would be helpful.

I've heard 50psi is safe on the common rails. If your adding water/meth or nitrous at that pressure I'd definately stud it.

Thanks I dont plan to get crazy I've hit the thirty year mark and dont enjoy spending countless hours working on problems I caused by mods. But I cant get enough of that smoke in my rearview mirror...and never get tired of out running kids in my work truck.

50 psi is nothing. these new multi-layered head gaskets are as strong as hell.

I would stud at 50. With studs I would run 60 but much more than that I may start gettin concerned. It also has more to do with dirve pressures than boost.

50psi with the factory turbo is a lot harder on your truck than 50 with a bigger turbo, ie sps66 or k31.

I dont know if anybody is making gaskets for our trucks yet that are out for sale. Studs is all I know of, short of cuttin O rings.

FWIW, my factory gasket/studs have seen 55psi with the stock turbo, but I dont recomend it.

Thanks that is exactly what I was looking for it sounds like 48psi will be fine Has anyone installed studs and left the factory gasket in place I dont see why I couldnt replace the bolts one at a time with studs and not have to replace the whole mess. Is this a stupid idea? also Im sorry I guess I posted this in the wrong forum. I appreciate any help or suggestions

Thats the way I did it the first time on my 01. Start in the middle and work your way around clockwise. They way I did it was torque em down, brake em loose, and torque em down. Warm the pickup up. Let it cool down. Brake em loose, and torque em down again. Something like this

21 22
17 18
13 14
9 10
5 6
1 2
4 3
8 7
12 11
16 15
20 19
24 23

Boost numbers are only part of the equation with blowing gaskets.
Fuel delivery timing, cylinder pressures, egt's are a big cause of gasket failures.
