I am having the same problem. I paid for my remote start when I purchased my truck Nov. 2006 and am still waiting.
No one seems to know what the problem is with this. 2006 MY has it, the 6.7 has it, but MY 2007 5.9 nothing.
Maybe if this thread stays going someone will be able to get us some info.

Boris

I had a problem with my remote start on my 07 5.9 at first where the truck would start up and shut right off and then i took it back to the place that did the install and they said something was wrong with the wires.

You might try going to 12volt.com and asking there, those guys have lots of experience with all kinds of remote starts.

Angry

I know this thread is about 07, but I have a similar problem with my 06 CTD. I had a guy who installs remote starters & alarms for several local new car dealers put a remote starter in my truck. The same day he did my buddy's 07 Hemi. This guy was professional and highly recommended.

My buddy's (gas truck) works fine. No problems. Mine on the other hand was a nightmare.

First we had lost lights in the gear selector (PRNDL) area. Then we got that working and the truck would run, stop, restart, and run fine. Then a check engine light. Like I said, it was a nightmare.

In the end, after more than 10 hours of labor and trying two different brands of remote starter units, he ended up removing all the hardware and refunding my money.

Now the truck is back to normal, but still, I'd like remote start but don't know what to do. I don't want a repeat. If anyone has a guaranteed solution, I'll try it.

the problem is with the sentry system. they need to have a bypass module that tricks the sentry into thinking everything is ok. there are 2 ways to go about it.
1. keyless bypass self learning module
2. some stereo shops make you go and buy another key and have it programed so they can hide a key under your dash and bypass the sentry that way.

BOTH WAYS ARE NO GOOD!

It is just a way a thieft can snag your truck. I have worked with several stereo shops that have done both and all it does is make it easy to take your truck.

You have a few options. Go to a better shop than best buy. If you go to a pro he should know which bypass kit works best. Or get a factory unit off ebay for $262.00 and put it in your self. I put a DEI system in my dad's 06 last winter and it was the worst one I've ever done (about 2 dozen so far with no problems till dad's). I am about to do my 07 and I will spend the extra $$$$ and get the factory system, put one in the wifes caravan and it had about 6 wires instead of 20 something and it didn't require an extra key. If you go to bypasskit.com they will tell you which bypass module you need. Thats where I went for dad's after using DEI's kit with no luck. They won't sell one to you unless your a dealer but once you find the # you can search for it. The problem with the 06 & up chryslers is that there are 2 starter and 2accesory wires and they are both the same colors. I fought with dad's for hours then switched to the second wire and it worked perfect. Good luck. And the 12volt.com definately helped me.

i have a 2004.5 5.9 cummins and NOTHING. i have a polar 4450 2 way remote starter. its been back to shop 3 times now and cant get it to work. truck starts fine when its warm outside but when its cold it attempts to start, turns over and nothing. I am getting it removed and getting a edge juice attitude instead. The remote starter costed me $660 with installation and i spent about another $400 in fuel and meals driving into city to get it worked on and still nothing. Dont get a remote starter,!!!!

I don't understand why someone would want a bypass module in their truck. thieves use it to steel them! It is like handing them the keys.
