Searched till my eyes hurt.

Going to look at purchasing a 2007 5.9 auto.The sales guy says it has a 6 speed auto,I see plenty of referance to the 6.7 6 speed auto,but nothing on a 5.9 6 speed auto.Is the salesmen wrong about the number of gears ? Or was this an option ?

I cant find any info anywhere

Believe is called a 68RE or something like that.

 

I think that truck would have the 48re, 4 speed.

 

Salesman is smoking something, NO 68 RFE's until the 07.5 6.7 motors.. it has to have a 48 RE in it

 

Yup 100% if its a 5.9 its a 48RE Salesman are not too smart......

 

Either that or it is a 6.7 and has the 6 spd auto. Either way the dealer is wrong about something, the tranny or engine!!!!!!!!!!

 

Take a look at two things,6 speed auto has the up / down shift switch as well as the tow/ haul button on the shift lever.If it has the 6.7l engine then the fuel gauge has Ultra Low Sulpher Deisel Only marked on it.At least the one I drove did.

 

Thanks for the replys,its used (has 7k on it),but I still worry about the auto tranny.Fords E40D made me a little gun shy.
