Trans. options for 2001 CTD
I know that you could only get a 2001 HO CTD with a six-speed manual transmission, but could you get the standard 2001 CTD with the six-speed trans?

'99 & '00 were the only years you could get the 6spd w/ the Standard Output.

Ok i'll bite.


Is there anyway to quickly tell if a motor is H.O or S.O? (i'm a first Gen guy so i dont know)

If it is a 6spd before '01, then it is an SO, '01 and later HO. I think that the HO has a red valve cover, but I am not sure(I don't have one).

No, the HO doesnt have a red valve cover, or atleast mine doesnt.

You can check the VIN.

Or the data plate on the engine will tell you.

No Red Valve cover on the H.O.

You can check the CPL plate on the timing cover on the drivers side of the engine....will give the H.P.
