06 TC lockup is shudering.

Last weekend we went camping abought 70 miles from home and the TC started acting up on the way home. I had to start from a stop sighn going up hill and when the TC locked up it started shaking the truck vilently. I backed out of the throtle a few times and every time I would touch the throtle the truck would start shaking or shudering again. After getting up to speed the TC never did lockup the rest of the way home. Abought 8 miles from home we stopped to dump the camper and I had to go back and forth a time or two to get the camper into position. After leaving there it locked rite up for the last 8 miles home. Never bothered all week then tonight while driving empty in tow haul mode it did it again and then refused to lock up the converter. I stopped put it in park for a second or two then continued on. It drove fine the next 15 miles home. I presume my TC is toast. Can I replace just the TC and get away with it or do I need a complete overhaul? I realy dont wana put any money into it cause I have plans to convert it to a six speed in a year or two. I just am not in a position to do it now or I would be asking what all do I need to convert it? I just need anouther year or two out of it as cheaply as posible. What does a TC cost?

You can replace just the TC, if that's what it is....

one more thing I just thought of. Both times it did it I had it in Tow/haul. It has never done it not in tow haul. Tonight I drove it again and tried to get it to do it out of tow haul and it wouldent. I let it get into lockup then accelerated as hard as I could without making it unlock and it never even began to shudder. Could this be an electrical issue???
